The regional Office of Rospotrebnadzor told Krasnoyarsk residents how to find “their” ideal fermented milk product.

According to experts, fermented milk products contain many living microorganisms that are safe for humans, and are conventionally divided into two types – traditional and probiotic. The first includes the well-known kefir, fermented baked milk and yogurt, the second includes products artificially enriched with bifidobacteria and lactobacilli (you can easily recognize them by the prefixes “bio”, “bifi” or “bifido”).

Bifidobacteria and lactobacilli are very important for the body. By creating an acidic environment, they prevent intoxication, reduce the load on the liver, and help absorb vitamins and microelements. However, when choosing a product, experts do not recommend blindly relying on its beneficial properties. The choice must be made based on your characteristics – health and digestion.

If you are healthy and active, choose any fermented milk product. Even a glass of regular kefir a day will keep your intestines in good shape. For mild dysbacteriosis, take products with the prefixes “bio” and “bifido”. They contain a higher concentration of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli, and the effect will be better. Low-fat fortified foods are recommended for the elderly.

For baby food, choose products with low acidity. Be careful with berries and especially exotic fruit additives, which can cause allergies in children. If you are overweight, choose low-fat foods without fruit additives.

If you are intolerant to milk, replace it with yogurt with lactobacilli casei – they speed up intestinal function and facilitate the absorption of the product. Remember that if you have high stomach acidity, acidophilus and other products with acidophilus bacilli are contraindicated.
