“Mmm, good morning.” Drones attacked a chemical plant, an oil depot and an unnamed facility in the Russian Federation

On the night of June 14, drones attacked Novomoskovsk in the Tula region of the aggressor country, Russia. The governor of the region, Dmitry Milyaev, announced this on Telegram.

Traditionally for Russian authorities, he did not report the scale of the damage or the specific object that was hit. I just wrote that drone debris fell on the territory of one of the industrial enterprises.

In turn, the Russian publication Astra reported that the Azot plant in Novomoskovsk was hit. With reference to satellite images, an OSINT media analyst announced a fire at the facility.

He also noted that the Novomoskovsk joint-stock company Azot is the largest domestic producer of ammonia and nitrogen fertilizers, as well as one of the industry leaders in terms of the types and volume of products produced. The company produces mineral fertilizers, ammonia, organic plastics and resins, chlorine, caustic soda, calcium chloride, concentrated and highly pure nitric acid, argon, methanol. Since 2002, NAC Azot has been part of the EuroChem holding.

Astra recalled that Reuters previously wrote about the shipment from two Eurochem plants (Nevinnomyssk Nitrogen Plant and Novomoskovsk Azot) during 2022–2024 to the Sverdlov plant in Dzerzhinsk in the Nizhny Novgorod region of at least 38 thousand tons of acetic acid and almost 5 thousand tons of nitric acid. The publication drew attention to the fact that they are used to produce octogen and hexogen, and those, in turn, for artillery shells.

At the same time, the media stated that it was not only the Azot plant that came under attack at night. An object was also damaged in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl region, and in Vyazma, Smolensk region. Astra did not report in detail about it, like other public pages. He remains unnamed for now. It is only known that the fire after the UAV attack occurred in the area of the railway depot.

The monitoring public Supernova+ showed photos and videos of the consequences of the attack on the chemical plant in Novomoskovsk, and also wrote that the Temp oil depot in Kopayevo was burning in the Yaroslavl region. The Exilenova+ channel also reported the defeat of Temp.

“Umm, good morning, f…ck, we’re being bombed again,” an eyewitness says in the video. From the window he shows black smoke rising into the sky.
