“We’ll pack you too, since you’re so smart.” A Ukrainian Armed Forces veteran said that he was beaten and robbed at the TsK in Kharkov

Alexander said that he served in artillery reconnaissance, worked with electronic warfare equipment and drones. The veteran went through the hottest areas of the Donetsk region, and in 2025 he was dismissed due to disability of group III due to the progression of the musculoskeletal system disease.

According to the veteran, the incident began in the morning on the road, when he witnessed forceful actions against a passerby, who was probably being forcibly detained to be sent to the TCC.

“One was in civilian clothes, and the second was in a pixel uniform, but I didn’t see any insignia on him. I stopped to find out what was going on, because an accident almost happened. I looked – people in uniform were pushing the guy into the minibus. I understood that this was the TCC. I approached and asked: “Guys, what are you doing? I almost hit you,” said Alexander.

During a verbal conflict, according to the man, he was knocked to the ground and beaten.

“They started sending me. They said: “Now we’ll pack you up too, since you’re so smart.” I told them that I was a war veteran, a participant in combat operations, decommissioned. They swore at me anyway, an argument started, they knocked me to the ground, one of them strangled me from behind, on the face – the result, they beat me,” the man recalls.

Subsequently, according to the veteran, money disappeared from his bag with which he was supposed to pay for car repairs – €500, which the veteran had been collecting for six months.

Later, the couple followed the cars of the participants in the incident to the district TCC. There, the conflict, according to the victim, continued: his wife Olga’s phone was forcibly taken away, and the veteran himself was dragged into the territory of the institution, where he was beaten again. The police and ambulance were called to the scene.

The man suffered a traumatic brain injury, concussion, eye hematoma, broken nasal bones and numerous bruises. His wife was also injured.

The victim said that he had already given an explanation to the police and planned to contact the State Bureau of Investigation. He notes that he does not oppose mobilization, but condemns the use of force and demands a legal assessment of the actions of the parties to the conflict.

In a comment to MediaPort, the speaker of the Kharkov OTCC and JV, Elena Rodina, stated that a man in his own car blocked the entrance to the Novobavarsky TCK and JV.

“The husband behaved inappropriately, threatened the servicemen of the TCC and SP. The servicemen were forced to call the police to the scene. The attacker was detained. Investigative actions are now underway,” Rodina said.

She did not comment on the remaining details, journalists say.

Representatives of the Kharkov region police informed hromadske in a commentary about the start of a pre-trial investigation under Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional minor bodily injury. The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 850 UAH, up to 200 hours of community service or correctional labor for up to one year.

Context

In the spring of 2025, Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets reported that cases of violence and abuse of power by TCC employees had become widespread. At the end of December, in an interview with the founder of the GORDON publication, Dmitry Gordon, Lubinets said that during the year he received approximately 6 thousand complaints regarding human rights violations by TCC representatives.

In the summer, the command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine called 91% of complaints about violations by the TCC and SP “fake or manipulation.”
