The Central Bank of the Russian Federation extended for another six months restrictions on the transfer of currency abroad – until March 31, 2026. Before that, they acted until September 30, 2025 inclusive.

Russians and individuals-nonsense from the “friendly” countries will be able to transfer no more than $ 1 million or equivalent to another foreign currency to foreign banks within a month, the Central Bank said.

Limits for transfers through money transfer systems – no more than 10 thousand dollars per month.

Pinences-Nereziders from the “friendly” and “unfriendly” countries that work in Russia can transfer money in the amount of salary abroad.

Pinences-Nereziders from the “unfriendly” countries who do not work in Russia, and the legal entity from such states cannot transfer funds abroad. The exception is foreign companies that are under the control of Russian legal entities or individuals.

Banks from the “unfriendly” countries can transfer money in rubles using correspondent accounts opened in Russian credit organizations if the accounts of the payer and recipient are open in foreign banks.

All these restrictions do not apply to the money transfers of foreign investors who are invested in the Russian financial market, from accounts such as “IN” to accounts abroad. But in September 2025, the regulator did not receive applications from foreigners to open such accounts.

The Central Bank limited the majority of Russians transfers abroad with an amount of 5 thousand dollars a month in March 2022. In April June, the regulator gradually increased the limit-up to 1 million per month. Restrictions are extended every six months, the last time – until September 30, 2025.
