American F-15 fighter jet downed, announces a rear admiral from Tehran. “US Navy Runs Away From Iranian Navy”

Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, the deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guards of Iran (IRGC), stated on Wednesday that Iranian forces shot down an American F-15 fighter jet south of Tehran and that there are no American ships 700 kilometers from the borders of the Islamic Republic, informs EFE.

Fadavi claimed in an interview on state television that Iran would strengthen its air defense system “so that no fighter jet can ever come close” and that “the US navy basically ran away from the Iranian navy because it knew that it (…) had plans to sink American ships”, so it moved more than 1,000 kilometers away.

Neither the US nor any independent source has confirmed this information.

But if the American warships will move away from the waters near Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian army will gain more freedom of maneuver on one of the world's main energy routes, say experts quoted by the Spanish news agency, according to Agerpres.

On the other hand, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said that since Tuesday US President Donald Trump has been personally seeking a truce through intermediaries, interpreting this as a sign that “the enemy is not winning the war”.

The threat launched by Tehran: “$200 a barrel of oil”

Iran threatened on Wednesday that it would not allow “one liter of oil” to pass through the Strait of Hormuz for the benefit of the US, Israel or their partners and that any vessel connected to them would be a “legitimate target” for Tehran, as Iranian forces attacked Liberian and Thai-flagged vessels for refusing to stop at their summons.

“Any ship whose oil cargo or the ship itself belongs to the United States, the Zionist regime or their hostile allies will be considered a legitimate target,” the military's central command of operations, Khatam Al-Anbiya, said in a statement broadcast on state television.

He reiterated that the Iranian military will not allow “the export of a single liter of oil” through the strait.

“Get ready for the price of a barrel of oil to reach $200, because the price of oil depends on the regional security that you have destabilized,” added spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaqari.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt assured on Tuesday that the US Navy had not escorted any tankers in the Strait of Hormuz after Energy Secretary Chris Wright deleted a post on X that said a vessel had been successfully escorted.

The situation in the Strait of Hormuz – a strategic energy route through which about 20% of the world's oil and much of its strategic minerals pass – has disrupted the international oil market after the Revolutionary Guards threatened to attack any ship crossing it without their consent.
