SuperLiga: Robert Ilyeș, after the results recorded by FK Csikszereda in Turkey: “I have reasons to be optimistic about the future”

Robert Ilyeș, the coach of the FK Csikszereda team, declared himself satisfied with the performance of his players in the draw with the Polish group Arka Gdynia, score 1-1, played in the training camp in Turkey.

Arka, a team ranked 12th (out of 18 teams) in the first league of Poland, opened the scoring in the first half, but the team from Miercurea Ciuc equalized after the break, through Szabolcs Dusinszki.

On Wednesday, FK Csikszereda, in 14th place in the SuperLiga, ended in a 0-0 draw with Nyiregyhaza, the team in 11th place, penultimate, in the Hungarian league.

Robert Ilyeș: “I would like for us to have reasons to be happy at the end of May or the beginning of June”

“We played against a very strong team. The Polish first league is at a much higher level than Romanian football. There were physical battles, in which we managed to hold our own. It was a tough game on both sides, with a red card and many yellow cards.

I'm proud that the team is responding. Let's not forget that we train twice a day, so it's very difficult for everyone mentally and physically. Everyone is aware of the lack of points in the championship and everyone feels responsible for the results so far.

I am happy with the new players. They try to keep up with the team and bring extra energy. They integrated well in training. I also feel how important everyone is to the team. I am glad that the players welcomed them warmly and that there is a good atmosphere in the team.

I think it's positive that what they've practiced so far in training has been reflected in both games, which gives me reason to be optimistic about the future. I would like that at the end of May or the beginning of June we finish in a position that keeps us in the first division, to the joy of everyone”, explained Ilyeș, according to fkcsikszereda.ro.

For FK Csikszereda, the friendly with Zira FK (3rd place in the first league of Azerbaijan) follows, the return to the country will take place on Tuesday afternoon. The first official match of 2026 will be played on January 18, at home, from 15:30, in the 22nd stage of the SuperLiga.
