In the middle of the frost episode, almost 40% of the blocks in the Capital continue to have problems with hot water and heat. It is about more than 3,500 buildings, most of them in sectors 2 and 3, for which the supply of heating agent is deficient. Meteorologists say that the frost will remain in Bucharest until Wednesday, and the lowest temperatures, up to -13 degrees, are forecast for Monday night.
According to the Termo Alert application, at this moment 3,513 of the 9,213 buildings in the Capital have problems with hot water and heat due to insufficient flow for delivery by CET Sud, affected by a major breakdown since January 5.

Most of the affected buildings are from sectors 2 and 3. Areas such as Pantelimon, Sălăjan, Vatra Lumionoasă, B-dul Basarabia, Muncii, Baicului, Ștefan cel Mare, Colentina, Petricani, Teiul Doamnei, Nicola Grigorescu and Baba Novac are affected. There are also problems for blocks in sector 4, in the Tineretului or Unirii areas.
The new term estimated by Termoenergetica for resuming the supply of heating agent is January 12, at 11:30 p.m., but this could be extended.
The breakdown at CET Bucharest Sud occurred as early as January 5. Initially, it was about 1,000 buildings affected, but their number then increased to 3,500, almost 40% of all those connected to the centralized system.
It's getting colder and the breakdown that left half of Bucharest without heat is not fully resolved: Why is the system on the ground after the streets were under construction all summer and 350 kilometers of pipes were changed
The representatives of the energy producer Elcen claimed that they continued to deliver heating agent at a temperature high enough so that the population was not affected, but due to old pipes, the heating agent was not reaching the radiators.
