Donald Trump surprised with his post about Marco Rubio. Suggests Cuban presidency

Trump was referring to a post by Truth Social user Cliff Smith, who wrote on January 8: “Marco Rubio will become president of Cuba.” The US president responded briefly but eloquently to this suggestion: “Sounds great.” This post quickly attracted media attention, although the author of the original post, Smith, remains almost anonymous – his account is followed by less than 500 people and he describes himself as a “conservative Californian”.

Warning for Havana
On the same day, Donald Trump sent a warning to the Cuban authorities, emphasizing that they could no longer count on financial support and oil supplies from Venezuela, as was the case in the past. In his post on Truth Social, the US president noted that Cuba should consider reaching an agreement with his administration before it is too late.
“Cuba lived for many years on massive amounts of OIL and MONEY from Venezuela. In return, Cuba provided 'security services' to Venezuela's last two dictators, BUT NOT ANYMORE! Most of these Cubans DIED in the US attack last week, and Venezuela no longer needs protection from the bandits and extortionists who have kept it in check for so many years.” — Trump wrote, but did not specify any details about a possible US attack.

Marco Rubio – a symbol of Cuba policy?
Marco Rubio, born into a family of Cuban immigrants, has been one of the key figures in American policy towards Cuba for years. His tough stance against the communist authorities in Havana and his support for democratic changes on the island gained him recognition among the Cuban diaspora in the US. Trump's suggestion, although probably ironic, fits into the broader context of his administration's policy towards Cuba, which from the beginning of his presidency has been much more confrontational than, for example, during the times of Barack Obama.
