The “Doomsday Plane” sparked speculation after it was spotted in Washington

The Boeing E-4B Nightwatch, known as the Plane of the Apocalypse, surprised Washington, days after the US captured Nicolás Maduro and his wife. According to reports, the Apocalypse Plane has been moved to Camp Spring, about 25 minutes from the White House. He later flew to Los Angeles with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

A Department of Defense notice said Pete Hegseth was scheduled to meet with defense industry leaders in Los Angeles. The Pentagon did not explain, however, why the Apocalypse plane was used instead of a regular aircraft, MSN wrote.
The aircraft is intended to carry US President Donald Trump and military officials in the event of a nuclear war or other major catastrophe.
“This plane is basically a flying command center built to keep the US government running during an extreme crisis, even if ground systems are hit. No official reason was given for the flight, but such occurrences are very rare and immediately set off a flurry of rumors“, posted the American influencer Mario Nawfal.
Flight tracking sites showed that one of those aircraft took off from Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday (January 6) and landed in Camp Springs, near Washington DC. The plane was also spotted landing at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday. The exact reason for these flights is not known, but the fleet of four aircraft is frequently moved for various reasons.
One of the main reasons the plane might have been in the air is to maintain crew training. It doesn't make sense to have one “plane of the apocalypse” if the personnel operating it only fly it in emergency situations.
Why the Plane of Apocalypse is so special
“Night Watch” it is designed to function as a mobile war room for the US president and can stay in the air for a week thanks to its in-flight refueling capability.
The aircraft is built on the basis of a modified Boeing 747-200. It is designed to withstand electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attacks. These pulses can disable electronic systems after nuclear explosions.
The plane is equipped with advanced communication systems. These systems enable contact with US armed forces around the world. The aircraft can transmit orders of war and coordinate the actions of civil authorities.
The hourly operating cost of such a plane is approximately $159,529, being equipped with numerous defense systems designed to protect it against electromagnetic attacks, and the controls are analog so that they cannot be taken over by cyber attacks.
The “Nightwatch” planes are stationed at the US Strategic Command, and one is always on high alert for extreme situations.
The background to the recent moves is attributed to the many crises facing the US, including tensions over Venezuela, after Donald Trump's statements on “administration” temporary of the country.
We remind you that on January 3, dozens of people lost their lives during the military operation carried out by the US in Venezuela, as a result of which President Nicolás Maduro was captured.
Cuba also announced that 32 of its citizens were killed during the operation, adding that those people were carrying out missions for the armed forces and the Cuban Interior Ministry. The statement was published by the Cuban presidential office.
