Card fraud has been minimized to almost zero. Two thirds of frauds involving cards stolen from Polish users are reported outside the country. In many cases, this is the result of carelessness of the user who leaves card data on websites that are not sufficiently well secured, often related to gambling.

A huge problem and challenge, however, are frauds that involve manipulating a person into ordering a transfer or withdrawing cash and depositing it into the criminals' account. Mateusz Oleksy, head of Visa Polska, believes that education is the best solution for social engineering tricks, but the actions of criminals can also be limited using technical methods. Interesting anti-scam technologies are being tested in the UK.

In “Puls Biznesu” I deal with the financial market, especially the banking sector, but I also write about the debt collection and leasing industry. I must admit that banks are closest to me. I look at the achievements of the receivables management industry with respect, but I only know this business from an observer's perspective. I have never, knock on wood, been a client of a debt collection company. It's easier for me to evaluate banks because I have an open account with all of them. I know what the website, call center and branch service look like and how they work.
