Drivers going to Zakopane on Saturday, including fans heading to the Ski Jumping World Cup competition, must take into account major difficulties on the Zakopane route, i.e. the S7 route. The police inform the residents of Głogoczów about the protest and recommend using detours.

On Saturday, from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., a residents' protest will be held in Głogoczów (Myślenicki poviat). According to the police, its participants plan to cross the Zakopianka pedestrian crossing periodically, which may lead to temporary but regular suspension of traffic.
Officers warn of significant difficulties, especially since the protest coincides with the weekend of the Ski Jumping World Cup competition in Zakopane. To limit the effects of the blockade, the police have designated diversion routes.
Drivers coming from Zakopane are advised to exit DK7 in Jawornik onto provincial road No. 955 towards Sułkowice, then drive through Biertowice and join national road No. 52 towards Głogoczów. In turn, those coming from Krakow, to avoid the congestion, should exit the Zakopianka in Głogoczów onto DK52 towards Biertowice, and then return to DK7 through Sułkowice and Jawornik.
The protesters oppose all proposed variants of the construction of the S7 expressway on the Kraków – Myślenice section and the planned connector, the so-called the Beskid integration road, i.e. the S52 route, with the Zakopianka route. In their opinion, the investment poses a threat, among other things: demolition of houses, division of towns and deterioration of living conditions.
The police appeal to drivers to be careful, follow the instructions of traffic control officers and take into account possible delays when planning a trip. (PAP)
