Orlen is testing a self-service pizzeria and laundry at a gas station in the Czech Republic

A self-service pizza machine and a laundry were launched at the Orlen gas station in Pruhonice in the Czech Republic, on the D1 highway from Prague to Brno, the company announced on Thursday. Orlen explained that it is testing new services as part of the pilot program.

When informing about the self-service pizzeria and laundry at the gas station in Pruhonice, Orlen pointed out that, among other things, Thanks to its location, large area and truck parking, this facility is one of the most visited in this region of the Czech Republic.

“For this reason, it is also a suitable place to test innovations. In the fall, we installed a fast charging station for electric cars here, and now we are adding pizza machines and a laundry. The results after the first weeks of operation show that customers are interested in these services,” said Rostislav Moravec, director of Orlen's Czech gas station network, quoted in the company's announcement.

The Orlen gas station in Pruhonice is located on the D1 highway leading from the Czech capital to Brno.

The self-service pizzeria is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The restaurant responsible for delivering meals prepares the order, and then the cooled product goes to the vending machine. The laundry room is equipped with two washing machines with a capacity of 8 and 18 kg and a dryer with a capacity of 18 kg; a standard washing cycle takes 30-40 minutes and drying 15-30 minutes.

Orlen and its subsidiaries are a multi-energy concern that has refineries in Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, as well as a network of gas stations, including in Germany, Slovakia, Hungary and Austria. At the same time, it develops the crude oil and natural gas extraction segment, the petrochemical segment and the energy segment, including renewable energy sources.
