Congested traffic on DN 1 in Prahova county: columns of cars at Comarnic, Bușteni and Sinaia
The County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Prahova announces, on Saturday, that the traffic on DN 1 – E60 is intense, especially on the direction of travel to Brașov, due to the increase in traffic values specific to the beginning of the year. Columns of cars form in Comarnic (about 7 km), Sinaia (4 km) and Bușteni (3 km).

“Police officers of the Prahova Road Service are present, since the early hours of the morning, at the key points on DN 1 – E60. More than 30 traffic policemen direct traffic and make constant efforts to ensure the flow of traffic and to prevent the occurrence of road accidents. The crews constantly communicate with each other, intervene promptly and support drivers to drive safely, adapting measures in real time, depending on the evolution of traffic values”IPJ Prahova transmitted.
Traffic is also intense on the Western Belt section of the Ploiești municipality – the Strejnicu roundabout, in both directions.
“We recommend drivers to show increased caution, keep a safe distance between vehicles and avoid risky maneuvers, especially in areas where there is a queue. Given the negative temperatures, it is essential to check the technical condition of vehicles and use suitable winter tires. To reduce travel times, drivers are asked to plan their route in advance and follow the directions of the traffic police in the field”, the police say.
Also, drivers are asked to strictly follow the meaning of the signs and traffic lights, as well as the directions of the traffic police in the field, even when they temporarily differ from the usual traffic rules.
“The measures ordered by the police have the sole purpose of streamlining traffic and preventing road accidents, and their compliance directly contributes to the safety of all traffic participants”also recommends the Police.
To avoid the congested areas on DN 1, depending on the destination, the alternative routes DN 1A Ploiești – Vălenii de Munte – Cheia – Brașov and DN 72 Ploiești – Târgoviște can be considered, with continuation to Brașov on DN 71 and DN 73. For local traffic, the adjacent county routes can help to avoid sectors with columns of cars.
