The Swiss authorities announced that 10 of the 40 people who died in the fire could not be identified, and in this case information was also requested from the authorities of other states, including Romania. We remind you that a Romanian was reported missing following the tragedy in the Crans-Montana ski resort.

As a result of the fire in the restaurant in the ski resort, 119 people were injured, and six of them could not yet be identified, according to the authorities.

“Identification procedures are still ongoing. Of the injured people identified, 71 are of Swiss nationality. There are also 14 French citizens, 11 Italians, 4 Serbians, as well as a Bosnian, a Belgian, a Luxembourger, a Pole and a Portuguese,” according to the Valais Cantonal Police.

The number of people who died as a result of the fire is 40, and for 10 of them the identification is still only partial.

“Ante mortem cases have been opened in collaboration with several countries, including Switzerland, Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal, the Philippines, Congo, RomaniaSerbia and Turkey. These steps are indispensable to allow the victims to be identified in the shortest possible time”, states the Police.

Several people have already been questioned by the police

The authorities also say that several people have already been questioned as part of the investigation opened by the Public Ministry of the canton of Valais.

All runways are scrutinized, especially the compliance of the premises and existing safety measures, such as the presence of fire extinguishers, escape routes and the number of authorized persons.

Investigations are aimed at establishing the exact causes of the fire and determining possible responsibilities.
