Snow and strong winds led to the delay of over 100 flights and the cancellation of dozens of flights at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport on Friday. Due to bad weather conditions, the airport's capacity decreased significantly. Difficulties are also possible on Saturday.

Winter weather conditions are causing serious disruptions to air traffic at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. According to the KLM carrier, 44 return flights were canceled and the number of delays exceeded one hundred.
A spokesman for Air Traffic Control in the Netherlands (LVNL) said the need to clear snow from runways and de-ice planes, as well as strong westerly winds, had reduced the number of available runways from three to two. As a result, approximately 20 take-offs and 20 landings per hour are possible, compared to up to 60 in normal conditions.
Passengers are advised to check updated flight information before traveling. It was announced that difficulties may continue on Saturday. Eindhoven and Rotterdam airports report no problems.
