Ilie Bolojan still supports the reduction of the number of parliamentarians, although it recognizes that this measure will not fundamentally change the quality of the legislative act

Bolojan said, at News Pass from B1, that “It would be abnormal that if I support the role and I am in Parliament and I vote, after six months to change my mind ”, writes Mediafax.

Asked about reducing the number of parliamentarians, the prime minister has clarified his position and PNL, stressing that it is not a miraculous solution, but about respecting the commitments made in front of the electorate.

One of the things I have stated, and I personally believe in that, if the number of parliamentarians were reduced, nothing would happen to the parliamentary quality“, Said Bolojan, adding that some areas would be better represented, others more poorly represented.

The Prime Minister stressed that it is very important to reduce the number of parliamentarians, but respecting “A normal weight, as it is today, by the representation of minorities in Romania ”.

Regarding the reasons why he supports the reduction, although he recognizes that he will not change things fundamentally, Bolojan explained: “I do not think that if we have 300 parliamentarians tomorrow in Romania, everything will change. But it is a form of respect for the electorate. If you have tried, if you said something, it is good to keep your word and do this.”

The prime minister stressed that it would be abnormal to change his position after becoming a prime minister: “I became the president of the PNL one week before the parliamentary elections in November. And it would be abnormal that if I support the role and I am in Parliament and I vote, after six months to change my mind. I think it is not a fair play to our electorate, to what Romania is waiting for. ”

Bolojan said that the reduction of the number of parliamentarians is a form of form, while the substantive problem remains “The quality of the laws that a Parliament removes, the quality of the parliamentarians from a Parliament, because, after all, this is the purpose of the Parliament and the general orientation that a parliamentary majority gives. ”

Regarding the disagreement in the coalition on this topic, the prime minister explained that the measure is not in the coalition protocol: “We agreed, at first, that what we do not understand not to introduce in the protocol. If it passes, if it does not pass, it remains to be seen ”.
