The meeting was aimed at coordinating actions in the face of weather and hydrological threats and problems on roads and railways.
Kierwiński emphasized that the hydrological situation in towns such as Elbląg and Frombork has been under control.
“Yesterday evening, 12 alarm levels were exceeded, today only one was exceeded, and by just a centimeter,” the minister noted.
Increased inspections of trucks on national and express roads
Due to difficult weather conditions, the Head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration and the Minister of Infrastructure decided to intensify technical inspections of trucks traveling on national and express roads. According to Kierwiński, this task will be carried out by the police and the General Road Transport Inspectorate.

“If there are any doubts about the technical condition of a vehicle, trucks will be diverted to parking lots to prevent roadblocks” – explained the minister. This decision is aimed at ensuring traffic flow and safety in difficult weather conditions.
Appeal to drivers: “Avoid travel if possible”
The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration appealed to Poles to avoid traveling in the coming hours unless it is absolutely necessary.
“Intense snowfall and strong wind will return at night, which may cause snowdrifts to form. If you do not have properly prepared cars, do not set off,” Kierwiński warned.

The minister emphasized that although the situation has improved temporarily, IMWM forecasts indicate the return of difficult conditions, especially in the northern regions of Poland.
“Take all precautions and leave only when really necessary,” he added, appealing to drivers for prudence and responsibility.
