What's next for the CPN package?
On Tuesday, on Radio ZET, Minister Motyka also referred to the future of the government's CPN package. As he pointed out, the decision will depend on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, but in his opinion the program should be extended at least until mid-June.
The minister also assessed that the situation on the fuel market is gradually improving and there is a chance for further price reductions at stations. He noted, however, that the conditions are not yet good enough to completely abandon the package.

How does the fuel price control system work?
The Ministry publishes new price limits every day on working days. They come into force the day after their announcement in Monitor Polski. For weekends and holidays, previously agreed rates remain valid until the next business day.
Gas station owners who sell fuel at a higher price than the regulations allow may be fined up to PLN 1 million. Audits are carried out by the National Tax Administration.
Price limits are not set arbitrarily. They are calculated according to a specific formula taking into account, among others: average wholesale fuel prices in Poland, excise duty, fuel surcharge, VAT and a fixed retail margin for gas stations amounting to PLN 30 per liter.
