In Krasnoyarsk stores you can now confirm your age via the MAX messenger

December 30 10:29
Since December 29, Russia has officially allowed to confirm age for the purchase of alcohol, tobacco products and energy drinks through the MAX messenger. The corresponding law was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
To do this, the user needs to create a digital ID in MAX based on a verified State Services account. Then a QR code will appear in the application, which can be presented instead of a passport in stores.
As reported by Newslab readers, the age verification function through MAX works in some stores in Krasnoyarsk, including Alleya, Krasny Yar and Komandor. Previously, this opportunity was tested in individual retail outlets, and has now received the status of an official federal law.
To create a digital ID in the application, you can scan a new international passport (valid for 10 years) or a driver’s license. You can also confirm your identity by contacting a branch of one of the partner banks to submit biometrics.
