In the village of Bely Yar in Khakassia, a vacant lot was turned into a garden with unusual sculptures, the administration of the Altai region of the republic reported.

Oina Garden is next to a local park and was recently a grassy wasteland. At the initiative of local residents, the area was transformed.

“Administration employees, representatives of various departments, entire teams and families carried boulders with their own hands, discussed the design, laid out streams and built stone castles. Step by step, from simple forms to complex gabions, the wasteland was transformed into a unique work of art,” the press service said.

The sculptures were created using gabion technology – first a metal frame was made, which was then filled with stones. Turtles were the first to appear in Oina, then bears, moose and hares were added, as well as exotic cacti, giraffes and rhinoceroses. This garden is “guarded” by a fairy-tale serpent-dragon.

These new art objects became a real New Year's gift for all residents of the area, creating an ideal location for winter walks and unforgettable photo sessions. The administration noted that the project has not yet been completed – the administration team has ideas for its continuation.
