Many summer residents are sure that the more fertilizers, the richer the harvest. But experts from the Krasnoyarsk Rospotrebnadzor warn: the chemicals on the site are more dangerous than it seems.

Toxins can enter the body not only during work, but also after, when you accidentally touch treated plants or wear clothing that has been exposed to the solution. The risk is especially high for children and pets. They run through the grass, pull berries and vegetables into their mouths straight from the garden, and therefore are more susceptible to poisoning than others.
Mineral fertilizers are easy to use – they do not have an unpleasant odor and take up little space. But it is the chemistry in their composition that poses the main threat. Organic fertilizers – manure, bird droppings, compost – are also not harmless: they can be contaminated with pathogenic microorganisms and helminth eggs.
In order for the summer season to pass without consequences, experts advise strictly following the dosage, not diluting solutions in food containers, and be sure to use gloves, a respirator and goggles. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take this job.
After fertilizing the area, you need to thoroughly wash your hands and exposed areas of the body, and change your clothes. Chemicals should be stored in a separate closed room, away from food and out of the reach of children.
