Robert Fico warns against corruption in Ukraine. “We can't see what's going on”

Robert Fico, in an interview with a Slovak radio broadcaster, recalled that so far, EU countries have transferred EUR 177.5 billion to Ukraine and there are plans to send tens of billions more there. He stated that it is not known what actually happened to this support. He drew attention to the problem of corruption in Ukraine and blamed the unfair management of money from Europe, as well as the lack of information on what it was spent on.

“Ukraine is a black hole thanks to which billions of euros, rational economic reasoning and the sustainable future of the EU are lost,” wrote Fico on his Facebook channel.
– We do not see what is happening in Ukraine – he emphasized in the interview – Do you remember how much outcry there was when I said to watch out for corruption and that we do not know how much money is being stolen there – he added.
The Slovak Prime Minister also noted that political pressure is being exerted in the European Union on the leaders of those countries that do not support further financing of arms supplies to Ukraine. In his opinion, this creates an atmosphere in which any such opposition causes politicians to be negatively perceived by other leaders.
Fico also referred to Ukraine's possible membership in the European Union. He said it was “absolutely impossible” and that he would strongly oppose it. He recalled that any EU enlargement requires the unanimous consent of all member states.
This is yet another such declaration by Robert Fico regarding support for Ukraine, after a few days ago he sent a letter to the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa. He wrote in it that he would not support any EU financing of Ukraine's military expenditure in which Slovakia would participate.
