The accident occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and involved a black Lexus SUV, which Joshua was in, and a parked red Sinotruck truck.
Five adult men were involved in the accident. Two of them died, two remained unharmed, and one, who turned out to be a boxer, was sent to hospital with “minor injuries.”
“Preliminary findings indicate that a Lexus SUV, allegedly traveling at a speed exceeding the legal speed limit, lost control while overtaking and crashed into a truck standing on the side of the road. The main causes of the accident are excessive speed and improper overtaking,” the FRSC said.
Reuters writes that Joshua, the son of British-Nigerian parents, studied at a boarding school until he was 12 years old, which is located 53 miles (about 85 km) from the scene of the accident.
