SuperLiga: Mihai Stoica announces the departure of a footballer from FCSB: “We shook hands and he is a free player”

Mihai Stoica, the president of the Board of Directors of the FCSB club, announced that the midfielder Malcom Edjouma will leave the Bucharest group.

Edjouma was criticized on several occasions by Gigi Becali, being even excluded from the team at the beginning of the summer, but his performances in the last period made the boss of the red-blues offer him a contract extension. Although it seemed that the footballer would continue at FCSB, MM Stoica says that he made a different decision.

“Edjouma will not continue. I misunderstood. I explained to him that the boss keeps his word. He was surprised, he said he wanted to stay. I gave him the extension of the contract under absolutely the same conditions, the contract that ended on December 30 would have ended on June 30 and after that he did not sign again.

I actually asked someone to ask him what it was about, because we can't hold the offer until he looks for teams. And he understood that we could discuss this contract.

I said ok, we are discussing whether you sign today or not. As midnight approached, he said he would like to talk. We shook hands through the intermediary and he is a free player.” , said Mihai Stoica, according to primasport.ro.

Malcom Edjouma was transferred by FCSB from FC Botoșani, in 2022, for 330,000 euros. He played in 123 games, scoring 18 goals and 8 assists, as well as two Romanian championship titles and a Super Cup.
