An earthquake occurred on Wednesday morning, at 7:19 am, in the Seismic area Vrancea. According to the National Institute for Research and Development for Earth Physics (INCDFP), the earthquake had 3.7 degrees on the Richter scale.

According to INCDFP, the earthquake had a depth of 107.3 km and occurred near the following cities: 43 km west of Focşani, 67 km east of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 67 km north of Buzău, 80 km east of Brasov, 94 south of Bacău, 97 km southwest of Bârlad.

In June, in Romania there were several weak earthquakes. The largest was a 4 -degree earthquake on June 23.

The largest earthquakes this year, both of 4.4 on Richter, took place on February 13, in Buzău county, respectively on May 11 in Vrancea county.

Last year, the most important earthquake had magnitude 5.4 and occurred in Buzau county, on September 16.
