Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov referred to the actions of European leaders in an interview with TASS.

— Since around 2014, the European Union has been pursuing a policy of dismantling the mechanisms of interaction with Russia. The ruling circles of most European countries exaggerate the “Russian threat” and fuel Russophobic and militaristic sentiments in society. I would like to emphasize that they are doing all this without any good reason: Russia has never taken hostile actions against its European neighbors on its own initiative, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry lied.

— It is difficult to answer the question whether figures such as Ursula von der Leyen, Merz, Starmer, Macron and the like have crossed the tipping point. We see that for now, the European “party of war”, having invested its political capital in the idea of inflicting a “strategic defeat” on Russia, is ready to go all the way, he argued, adding that Western leaders “are blinded by ambition.”

“The reaction will be overwhelming.” Lavrov warns European politicians

Lavrov also criticized security guarantees for Ukraine, asserting that “if military contingents of the coalition of the willing appear in Ukraine, they will become a legitimate target for the Russian armed forces.”

— For the foolish politicians in Europe to whom I hope will be shown this interview, I will repeat once again: there is no reason to fear that Russia will attack anyone. But if anyone decides to attack Russia, the reaction will be crushing, he stressed.
