The flood alert was announced due to the exceeding of the warning level on the Elbląg River (590 cm), an upward trend and unfavorable forecasts related to strong north-west winds – informed the spokeswoman of the city hall in Elbląg, Joanna Urbaniak. On Saturday evening in the most sensitive points of the city – Zygmunta August Boulevard and ul. Warszawska – flood barriers have been deployed as a preventive measure.
