“What are you most afraid of in 2026?” There were seven answers on the list in the United Surveys by IBRiS survey conducted for Wirtualna Polska:
The most frequently mentioned concern was the condition of the health care system. On Problems with access to health care were noticed by 47.5 percent. subjects.
This was certainly influenced by information about financial shortages in hospitals, suspended procedures and planned cuts in health care spending by the state amounting to PLN 10 billion. The plan to liquidate some of the maternity wards and replace them with staff in the Emergency Department from the beginning of the year probably also gives Poles negative thoughts.
A slightly smaller percentage of respondents, to be precise 45.3 percent is afraid of deterioration of their own health or the health of their loved ones.
State security and political instability
Concerns related to the country's security came in third place. The war on the eastern border continues and it is hardly surprising.
Geopolitical threats were indicated by 44.2 percent. respondents. An almost equally important source of concern is the internal situation in Poland. Political instability and internal conflicts worry 43.3 percent. respondents.
Although inflation has fallen to the NBP target, many Poles are still concerned about the prospect of price increases. The increase in the cost of living is a cause for concern for 41.5 percent. subjects.
Concerns related to loss of job or source of income. 21.8% are afraid of this. respondents. At the bottom of the list were climate change and violent weather phenomena, mentioned by 7.9 percent. respondents.
