The US is pushing because of the elections

On Friday evening, the president of Ukraine told reporters in his office in Kiev that Donald Trump's delegation had proposed a clear timetable for ending the fighting and is pushing for the agreement to be signed by June during peace talks in Abu Dhabi – reports the Financial Times.

As part of this effort, the United States has suggested for the first time that Ukrainian and Russian negotiating teams meet on American soil — possibly in Miami — within the next week. Zelensky suggested that Trump's political considerations are shaping his administration's approach to peace talks.
“The elections are definitely more important to them. Let's not be naive,” he said. “They say they want to do everything by June… for the war to end. And they want a clear timetable.”
'Prosperity plan' part of the negotiations
He said Kiev had proposed a clear “sequential plan” during the talks, without providing details. He added that security guarantees for Ukraine, as well as a “prosperity plan” that outlined Ukraine's post-war reconstruction, were part of the negotiations.

Zelensky said that Washington also asked Kiev and Moscow to… consent to a new ceasefireincluding mutual attacks on energy infrastructure, as a limited de-escalation measure during peace talks.
Ukraine, he said, was ready to stop attacks on Russian oil and gas installations, as well as on the fleet of tankers it attacked in the Black and Mediterranean Seas.
He added that Russia has not yet agreed to this. On the night from Saturday to Sunday, Russian forces fired over 400 drones and 40 missiles towards Ukraine. Zelensky said the main target was “the power grid and power and distribution stations.”
