Pope Francis is dead

The Vatican announced the following words of Cardinal Farrell: “The most expensive brothers and sisters, with deep pain, I have to announce the death of our Holy Father. At 7.35 this morning the bishop of Rome Francis returned to the Father's house.”
“His whole life was devoted to the service of God and His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with loyalty, courage and universal love, in a special way for the poorest and marginalized” – added Cardinal Farrell.
He emphasized: “With great gratitude for his model, the true student of Jesus, we entrust the soul of Pope Francis an infinite merciful love of the only God.”
Chemist technician in the company of Jesus
Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born on December 17, 1936 in Argentine Buenos Aires in a large family. The Pope had Italian origin – his father was an Italian immigrant who worked on the railway. The Pope's mother was an accountant from northern Italy.
He was a chemist technician by profession, but at the age of 21 he decided to join the Society of Jesus. The novitiate took place in Chile, where he studied in the field of humanities. Then he studied at the College of St. Józef in San Miguel, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in philosophy. He also undertook to study psychology at the College of Immaculate in Santa Fe and at the Savior College in Buenos Aires.

On December 13, 1969, the then metropolitan of Córdoba, Archbishop Ramón José Castellanos, ordained him as a priest, after which he made perpetual weddings in the Jesuit order on April 22, 1973. He later became a lecturer in his former college in San Miguel, whom he was a rector in 1980–1986. At that time, he also had longer and shorter travels to Germany.

Cardinal Bergogilo – appointed by John Paul II
On May 20, 1992, John Paul II appointed him an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires. His episcopal call is the words “Miserando Atque Eligendo” (he looked with mercy and chose). On June 3, 1997, the Holy Father appointed a hierarchy to the Archbishop of the Koadiutor with the right of the consequences, and less than a year later – on February 28, 1998, he appointed the Metropolitan Archbishop of his hometown.
As a bishop and cardinal, the future pope participated in many important church events with the synods of bishops at the forefront. In the years 2005-2011 he was the chairman of the Argentine episcopal conference.

In April 2005, after the death of Pope John Paul II, Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergogilo took part in the conclave, as a result of which the German Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger became the pope, who took the name Benedict XVI.
Pope “from the end of the world”
Eight years later, Pope Benedict XVI decided to abdicate and end his pontificate. As a result of the conclave on March 12-13, 2013, Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected Pope of the Catholic Church and the 266th Bishop of Rome after Saint Peter. The official start of the service of the new Holy Father took place on March 19, 2013.
He was the first inhabitant of all of America to obtained the highest office in the entire Catholic Church. As he said to the gathered in St. Piotr on the day of his choice, the cardinals chose the Pope “from the end of the world”.
