The announcement of the meeting indicates progress in negotiations on Trump's peace plan for Ukraine, Ravid said. The meeting is about draft peace agreement, security guarantees and the possibility of putting pressure on Moscow.
The date was set for next Sunday, which was confirmed by Volodymyr Zelansky. – I think that the meeting with President Trump will take place on Sunday in Florida – said Zelensky, quoted by Ukrinform.
The subject of the talks will be a draft document on the end of the war, as well as security guarantees and, among others, economic agreement.
As the Ukrainian president emphasized, he will raise issues with Trump on which no compromise has been reached so far.
Russia-Ukraine peace plan
In a post on the X platform, the Ukrainian leader noted that although work on arrangements on sensitive issues is still ongoing, “some documents are almost ready and others are fully prepared“. “But together with the American team, we know how to organize it all. The coming weeks could also be intense. Thank you, America!” he added.

On Wednesday, the President of Ukraine presented a new, 20-point peace plan proposal developed by the US, which is the result of consultations with the parties to the conflict. It provides for, among others: reaffirming Ukraine's sovereign status, freezing the conflict on current lines of contact, a solid development package for Ukraine, efforts to rebuild the country, accelerating the process of concluding a free trade agreement between Ukraine and the US, and elections in the country as soon as possible after the end of the war.
At the same time, as AFP pointed out, none of the points proposes a solution to the problem of Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories.
Zelensky said that an agreement to end the war in Ukraine would be an agreement between the US, Ukraine, Europe and Russia. He added that Ukraine's accession to NATO remains a decision of the Alliance's member states, but Kiev will not give up this prospect.
Putin open to exchanging territories
Russian newspaper Kommersant reported earlier on Friday that at a meeting with top Russian businessmen on December 24, Putin said he might be open to exchanging some of the territories controlled by Russian troops in Ukraine, but wanted Russia to take over the entire Donbas.
When asked about this article, Peskov said that the topic of peace talks was discussed “generally” at that meeting. He did not provide any details about what was discussed in the talks.
