Kelci-Rose Bowers Parts Ways with Hashtag United After Two Months

Kelci-Rose Bowers has officially parted ways with Hashtag United, just two months after her arrival at the club. The defender made the headlines during the 2026 World Cup, where she supported the Argentine national team, led by Lionel Scaloni, due to her relationship with Argentinian defender Marcos Senesi.
Bowers was transferred from Bournemouth in August, following Senesi’s move to Tottenham, where he signed a four-year deal at the beginning of June. Senesi’s transfer to London influenced Bowers’ switch to Hashtag United.
In a statement, Hashtag United confirmed the mutual termination of Bowers’ contract without providing further details: “The club confirms that Kelci-Rose Bowers has mutually agreed to terminate her contract. We welcomed Kelci in the summer after her arrival from Bournemouth, but unfortunately, things did not work out, and the club agreed to her transfer to another FAWNL team. We wish Kelci the best of luck in this new phase of her career.”
Reports Suggest World Cup Presence Caused Tensions Leading to Departure
British media outlet The Sun reported an unusual reason for the early separation. According to the publication, Bowers’ support for Argentina during the 2026 World Cup—including her presence in the stands at the semifinal against England wearing Messi’s national team jersey—may have created tensions that ultimately led to her departure from the London club.
Bowers’ time at Hashtag United was indeed brief. The left-back played a full 90 minutes in her debut against Lewes, scored a goal in the League Cup, and participated in her final match on August 30 against her former team, Bournemouth.
