CS Gloria 2018 Bistrita-Năsăud issued a statement in which it justified the harsh intervention of law enforcement on the fans of SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea, before the break of the game won by Carlos Viver's team with 35-33.

  • On Wednesday, November 12, in the 9th stage of the Flower League, the TeraPlast Arena in Bistrita hosted the derby between the local team and SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea, a team coached by Florentin Pera, the former coach of Transylvania.

  • Before the end of the first half, which was controlled by the away team, a scandal broke out between the fans from Zăvoi and the police in which several supporters from Râmnicu Vâlcea were assaulted.

  • After the end of the game, the Valcenians posted the final part of the moment on the club's official Facebook page and expressed their disappointment with the behavior of the stewards. Also, the leader of the gallery from SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea told GSP.ro that everything was premeditated and that the supporters were targeted by the security company from the start of the match.

Gloria Bistrita: “We regret this moment and the fact that such incidents can overshadow the joy of a handball game”

A day later, CS Gloria 2018 Bistrita-Năsăud issued a statement in which it was against violence and aggressive behavior but, at the same time, offered a justification for the action of the security agents.

Specifically, they claim that the fans of SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea kept climbing with their feet on the seats and tried to jump the protective fence towards the B standto reach the supporters of Bistrița.

During the CS Gloria Bistrița – SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea game, which ended with the score 35-33, an unwanted moment occurred in the stands area.

During the first half, the security guards intervened after some fans of the visiting team were warned not to climb the seats with their feet, in order to avoid damaging them. The situation escalated when three supporters of the away team tried to jump the protective fence to Tribune B, following exchanges of remarks with other spectators.

We regret this moment and the fact that such incidents can overshadow the joy of a handball game. In order not to divert attention from the sporting performance and victory of our team, we present this release only now, with a clear message:

CS Gloria Bistrița does not in any way encourage violence, aggressive behavior or attitudes that may endanger the safety of the public. We support competition, respect and responsible behavior in the stands and on the field.

We leave it to the competent institutions to analyze the incident and apply the necessary legal measures.

Our club will support all the necessary steps, making available the relevant video materials to clarify the situation.

For us, handball means fair play on the field and in the stands.

Respect between athletes, supporters and everyone involved remains the foundation of a professional sports experience!

SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea: “Serious questions are being raised regarding the safety of spectators in a sports hall”

Shortly after Gloria Bistrita's statement, SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea posted a statement of his own in which he expressed his concern about the incidents in Bistrița, stating that the decision to evacuate the supporters was abusive and violent.

Our club publicly expresses its concern regarding the serious incidents that occurred at the women's handball match played on November 12, 2025, in the town of Bistrița, during the 9th stage of the MOL Flower League, between CS Gloria Bistrița and SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea.

According to the images in the possession of the club and the statements of the supporters present, several members of the Brigada Noastra gallery were extracted from the stand, individually, by the agents of the security company contracted by the organizing club, in a way that raises serious questions about the safety of spectators in a sports hall, compliance with the security rules and mandatory procedures at a sports event, on the part of the parties involved in the organization. We believe that the decision to evacuate our supporters from the stands, which was taken by law enforcement officers, is fundamentally abusive, violent and contrary to the action plan, as this measure can only be taken by the gendarmes assigned to this event.

During the first half there were successive and violent interventions by security agents on our group of supporters, without this being duplicated by visible coordination with the gendarme device present at the event.

Later, some supporters were seized in a closed space, more precisely under the tribune, where they were hit, and one of them suffered medically confirmed injuries, being in possession of a medico-legal certificate. More specifically, his teeth suffered various severe traumas.

Also, according to the video images published last night, we can see physical contact and physical contact applied to our supporters, more precisely two of our supporters were hit directly in the face by the members of the security company. The recordings published last night on the Facebook page confirm these moments, and the violent gestures of the law enforcement officers speak for themselves. In this situation, the competent bodies were notified in order to start criminal investigations following the physical aggression of the supporters, but also for the seizure.

Our club believes that the safety of spectators, regardless of the colors they support, is a fundamental part of a sporting event. In handball halls there must be a setting where the public can be civilized and support their favorite team without fear of repercussions.

In this way we express our appreciation to our supporters and thank them for their constant fair-play behaviour
