Cristian Tudor Popescu called the general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, a “scumbag” after the statements made by him about the situation at the municipality and the problems related to heating. “It's a disaster, you're guilty, I'm kidding,” said the journalist ironically.

CTP says that, although Ciprian Ciucu “presents us with a catastrophic picture”, the mayor does not indicate a culprit in this regard.

“It's the first time that Mr. Ciprian Ciucu makes me laugh. The Mayor General declares: “The Capital City Hall has no money to cross the street”. He presents us with a catastrophic picture, with enormous debts and the “solution” to the insolvency of public transport. The situation of centralized heating in blocks of flats: thousands of people are shivering in frozen apartments, without heat. Ciucu says there is nothing he can do. Hospitals in the Capital, including CC Iliescu and the Institute of Oncology, they reduced or suspended surgical operations due to the lack of heating. I'm not talking about traffic and pollution anymore…”, said Cristian Tudor Popescu, in a post on Facebook.

He noted that the current mayor did not blame the situation on his predecessor.

“To the legitimate question: “Who is responsible for the state in which you took over the City Hall?”. Mr. Ciucu refuses to answer. He even states, several times: “It's not Mr. Nicușor Dan's fault! Leave Nicușor Dan alone!”. We leave it at that, but who is to blame, Mr. Mayor, the people of Bucharest? The Holy Spirit?”, CTP continued.

The journalist believes that “the absurdity is obvious”.

“From a logical point of view, the absurdity is obvious: it's a disaster, guilty, a joke. It's not political: Mr. Ciucu hopes to get some image capital, even sympathy, based on the “heavy inheritance” that would have been thrown into his arms. At the same time, he doesn't want to spoil his relations with President Dan. This is no longer the attitude of a technocrat, of an experienced administrator, as he presented himself in the election campaign, but of a politician with a toupee, capable of fooling you to your face”, Cristian Tudor Popescu also declared.
