Two streets in the center of Krasnoyarsk will be improved in 2026

In 2026, two central streets of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat and Kirov will be improved in Krasnoyarsk. This was reported by the press service of the city administration.

The two transverse streets of the historical center will be convenient, first of all, for pedestrian walks. Such improvement work was carried out in 2025 on Karatanov, 9 January, Perenson and Dzerzhinsky streets. Work is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026, as soon as weather permits.

“The improvement will be carried out under several separate contracts – for the installation of lighting, the improvement of the pedestrian area and the repair of the roadway. The search for a contractor to carry out lighting work has already begun on the electronic public procurement platform. The winning bidder will have to build a network of underground cable channels on the streets, where all the wires and cables will be removed. “We also need to install modern lanterns and lamps with warm light on the streets, which will create a special atmosphere,” clarified at the mayor's office.

After that a contract for work will appear at auction for improvement pedestrian part of the streets. Using different types of paving stones, the transit, façade, technical and landscaping zones will be demarcated. Modern drainage systems, granite depressions, and side stones will appear on the sidewalks, parking will be organized, and a large amount of landscaping will be done.

“The improvement of two streets is a continuation of the transformation of the central part of the city, where historical buildings are concentrated, which began last season, for the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk. With support, the edges of the space will be brought into a single modern look and will become more convenient for walking. It is very important, when starting new projects, to take into account the first experience of street improvement this year and not repeat mistakes. This also applies to the culture of work performance, and ensuring safety, synchronization and adherence to schedules, taking into account the implementation of activities under individual contracts,” noted Acting head of the city Roman Odintsov.

The main innovation of the project is the arrangement of a bicycle path. According to the designers, it should appear along the street. Dictatorship of the Proletariat and close the central bicycle ring between the Yenisei and Kachi embankments. The appearance of such a path residents of Krasnoyarsk have been waiting for many years. Bicycle path will allow, without disturbing pedestrians and without leaving the roadway, to travel from the Nikolaevsky Bridge along the Central Embankment to Tatyshev Island and return back along the Kachi embankment and Yudinsky Square. Considering the prospect of building a bridge from Tatyshev Park to Zelenaya Roshcha, the bike path will be able to connect almost all left-bank districts of the city.

The city administration added thatThe project for improving the transverse streets of the historical center of Krasnoyarsk is being implemented with financial support from the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The projects and concepts were developed by the architects of the ProjectDevelopment workshop. Specialists take into account the results of the study, which included surveys of citizens, observations and analysis of data on pedestrian flows, points of attraction for pedestrians and motorists, routes and other factors.
