Fico from Brussels complained that his plane was damaged to the point of being “unairworthy”

“The difficult summit in Brussels got off to a bad start. At the airport, a car with steps damaged our plane so much that it is no longer airworthy and we have to leave it here,” Fico wrote.

Apparently, by “car with steps” he meant a ramp.

He called the EU summit, which Fico attended and is scheduled for December 18, “controversial.”

The Slovak Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on Facebook that an Airbus A319 airliner was damaged.

“When working with a mobile ramp by a ground company at Brussels airport, contact occurred with the fuselage of the aircraft in the area of the left front door. The incident did not occur through the fault of the personnel of the Aviation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Slovakia,” the message says.

The agency noted that after consultations, “the aircraft was temporarily taken out of service for preventive safety purposes.”

“We are awaiting the manufacturer’s conclusion and a technical assessment of the situation. The safety of the crew and passengers was not in danger,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
