World leaders comment on the results of the summit on Ukraine. Summary of the night

World leaders after the Berlin summit on Ukraine
On Sunday and Monday, a series of talks were held in Berlin regarding actions aimed at leading to a ceasefire in Ukraine. Among the security guarantees for Ukraine agreed between the US and Europe is a European-led and US-backed military mission of willing countries also operating on Ukrainian territory, according to a statement published by European leaders.
After the talks, the following spoke: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. “It is very important that our partners from the United States of America heard all the details about the war. If these meetings had been held earlier, progress would have been even greater,” he wrote on X. “Nevertheless, I am grateful that we have worked really well together. There are some issues that, in my opinion, are destructive and certainly will not help us. It is important that they no longer appear in new versions of the documents. This matters because dignity matters,” he added.

“For the first time since the beginning of the war, a ceasefire seems possible. We want to follow the path of peace together with the Ukrainians, our European partners and the United States. French President Emmanuel Macron spoke in a similar tone. Under a photo of leaders participating in the talks in Berlin, Macron wrote: “we move forward united for a solid and lasting peace in Ukraine.”

Prime Minister Donald Tusk, in turn, emphasized in a conversation with journalists: – For the first time, I heard from American negotiators, and Mr. Steve Witkoff was clear here, that America would engage in security guarantees for Ukraine in such a way that the Russians would have no doubts that (in the event of violating the terms of the ceasefire – editor) the US response would be military.
Tusk then went to Helsinki, where on Tuesday he and leaders, among others, Finland, Sweden, the Baltic states and Romania will take part in the summit of the EU's eastern flank.
