In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, by decision of the internal affairs bodies, six foreigners who committed crimes of varying severity were deprived of citizenship. All of them are now serving their sentences.
So, two residents of the region 51 and 54 years old ended up in prison for organization of illegal migration; 56-year-old – for a drug crime; and 25-year-old, 26-year-old and 28-year-old – for evading military and alternative civilian service.
“Currently, the police have confiscated passports of citizens of the Russian Federation from these individuals. After serving the assigned sentence, each of the convicts will be required to leave the country. In case of failure to comply with this order, coercive measures will be taken to remove offenders from the Russian Federation,” the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said, adding that the Migration Department continues to work in this area.
Let us recall that for the first time such a measure as termination of citizenship for committing serious and especially serious crimes was used in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in December 2023, later a couple of months after entry into force new federal law “On citizenship of the Russian Federation.”
