Fortum received PLN 7.8 million from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management for digital modernization of heating networks in three cities: Wrocław, Częstochowa and Płock – Fortum said in a press release. The total cost of the investment is over PLN 26 million.

As stated, the company will modernize 8,299 heat nodes and implement new network management software.
“The point is that the heat reaches exactly where it is needed, and only when it is needed, that there is no loss, unnecessary costs and unnecessary emissions,” said Piotr Górnik, president of Fortum, quoted in the communiqué.
“This project gives us better control over the entire network and a faster response in case of problems,” he added.
As indicated, the co -financing applies to three cities: Wrocław – PLN 4.48 million (modernization of 4,287 knots, saving 102 thousand GJ per year) Płock – PLN 1.84 million (1.825 knots, saving 30,000 GJ) and Częstochowa – PLN 1.53 million (2,187 knots, saving 34,000 GJ).
The project is implemented as part of the “Digitization of heating networks” program and its completion is planned for the end of 2027 (PAP Biznes)
