A resident of another region came to a car dealership in the Kirov region and said that he wanted to sell his Land Cruiser Prado for 4 million rubles. They were surprised at such a low cost, and the pensioner stubbornly insisted that he urgently needed money.

One of the employees began to talk with the client, and the second at that time called the police. Criminal investigation operatives arrived at the scene and, after much questioning, managed to convince the man that he had become a victim of deception. The pensioner agreed to go to the police department and write a statement.

“The investigators are a man said that a “special service representative” called him and said that a general power of attorney had been issued for his car and that in order to save his property, he urgently needed to re-register it to another person. To do this, he was offered to come to Krasnoyarsk and sell the car at a car service center, where there was supposedly an agreement. The caller assured that the property would be returned to the owner as soon as everything was clarified. However, it was precisely thanks to the sensitive attitude of the car dealership employees, who had nothing to do with the attackers, and the police officers, who explained the fraudulent schemes to the pensioner for more than an hour, that the car remained with him,” said the Krasnoyarskoye Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated and is being investigated under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 4 art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Attempted fraud.”
