As Janusz Kowalski, spokesman for the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Kraków, supervising the investigation, announced on Wednesday, out of 12 people detained, nine suspects were temporarily arrested.
The spokesman said that the Regional Prosecutor's Office, as part of international legal assistance, requested the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine to search 28 locations identified during the proceedings, where call centers operating online investment platforms simulating investing in the non-bank FOREX market were to operate.
The activities of false platforms – said the prosecutor – led many victims, including Polish citizens, to unfavorable disposal of high-value property. There are at least 2,000 people involved in the case. injured persons, and their losses amount to at least PLN 80 million.

According to Kowalski, there are 23 suspects in the investigation. Property worth a total of PLN 18.2 million was secured and property sureties were applied for PLN 4.4 million. The secured property includes virtual currencies, cash, a helicopter, luxury cars and watches.
