Many girls, closer to 30, notice small wrinkles above the upper lip, and at 40+ they appear even more pronounced. It seems that everything is already “old age,” but in fact, such creases most often appear due to stress. How this is connected and what to do, the author of the Zen blog “Health and Beauty” (12+) told.
It's all about the tense orbicularis oris muscle. Many people do not notice how tightly they purse their lips when they are worried or stressed. Over time, this becomes a habit, and the skin begins to gather in small folds.
For prevention, the expert advises performing simple gymnastics:
Read any texts out loud, trying to open your mouth wide to strengthen your muscles and make them more elastic. A light pinch massage around the lips, as well as a massage with a gua sha scraper, helps a lot.
But the most important thing is to regularly pay attention to the position of your lips. If you feel tension, release it immediately. And pay attention to the position of your jaw before going to bed – even in bed, we often clamp our mouth muscles and sleep like that all night. Be sure to relax.
Important: if home care does not bring the desired result, the expert recommends contacting a cosmetologist for professional advice.
