The New Left before the congress. Włodzimierz Czarzasty announces changes

Marshal of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty confirmed that he intended to run for the position of chairman of the New Left again. During a press conference in the Sejm, he announced that before the upcoming congress he would ask delegates to include Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Krzysztof Gawkowski and Tomasz Trela in the group's leadership. As he emphasized, the decision was the result of consultations with the party's regional authorities.
“As part of the team, we decided to run for the party chairman. I asked my friends to support the idea that Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Krzysztof Gawkowski and Tomasz Trela would join the party leadership” — Czarzasty said.

The new leadership of the Left and the role of the coalition
The leader of the New Left also announced that, in accordance with arrangements within the party, during Sunday's National Congress, politicians will recommend that Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski take the position of first vice-chairman. Czarzasty said that his proposal is the result of long talks with the group's members and is intended to strengthen cooperation with government partners.
He emphasized that the New Left's priority is stability – both in the party and in the coalition.
“We are aware of the times we are living in. We are aware that any instability, any arguments, any disputes that exacerbate the climate are not good. We are a team and I want it to be heard.” – he said.
“We are a team that supports this government, we are part of this government and we believe that there are times when unity, common sense and mutual tolerance are the most important.” – he added.

Czarzasty: stability is more important than internal disputes
The Marshal of the Sejm argued that the government needs unity today, and internal conflicts could weaken the coalition's efforts.
“We cannot imagine a situation where, while fighting for what is most important to us programmatically, we would have to argue among 10 people about who should run. For us, the most important thing is the fate of the formation, the fate of this government and stability, which Poland will need very much in the next two years,” he emphasized.
The electoral process has been ongoing in the New Left since October, during which district and provincial authorities were elected. The entire procedure will end on Sunday, December 14, during the National Congress, where delegates will elect a new party chairman.
