Keith Andrews, 44, was appointed head coach at Brentford. The post was vacant after Thomas Frank chose to raise the Tottenham offer.

The departure of the Danish to Tottenham took advantage of one of his collaborators. Keith Andrews, who was a fixed phase coach in season 2024/2025, was promoted as “main” at Brentford, signing a contract valid for 3 years.

It will be the first adventure as a head coach for Andrews, who worked at MK Dons, Sheffield United and Ireland's youth and senior representatives, but always as “second”.

Brentford called “main” to the fixed phase coach!

“I am honored to be the new head coach of an amazing club, who marked me in several ways. I love to work here, I love to come to work daily and I will give everything to continue the success of this club,” Andrews said.

The football director of Brentford, Phil Giles, justified the choice:

Keith fits the glove. It is understood with everyone, it is very open and eager to learn. He knows what he wants, he is thorough, and the players and staff like it and respect it. Understand the players here and the way they played and trained under the command of Thomas Frank. It will come with your own evolution, but it should not start from scratch, so we hope to progress quickly.

Brentford ended the 2024/2025 championship on the 10th place. It remains to be seen if Andrews will rely on one of the best players in Thomas Frank's mandate, the far right Bryan Mbeumo, who expressed his intention to sign with Manchester United.
