The final of the regional case championship “Professionals of the Future” in the direction of “Mining Machines” was held at the Nazarovsky Energy Construction College.

Among the participants are schoolchildren, students of Profklassov.FM, college students from Nazarovo, Achinsk, Sharypovo, Borodino and other territories of the Krasnoyarsk Territory – more than 100 people in total.

Students presented their projects to the authors of the case, experts, whose role was played by SUEK-Krasnoyarsk specialists. They presented to the jury developments to improve the operating efficiency of mining equipment: they collected and processed initial data, analyzed problem situations, and proposed innovative methods for diagnosing and monitoring equipment.

Particular attention was paid to the development of breakdown prevention systems using artificial intelligence technologies, the creation of new software, optimization of data transmission methods, as well as calculation of the economic efficiency of the proposed solutions.

“The guys surprised us with their professionalism and knowledge. There are many good ideas that are worth considering and implementing at our enterprises. These are new projects, new developments. After all, young people today are one step ahead in mastering innovative systems and this is very interesting!” — said Sergei Nazarkin, chief power engineer of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk JSC.

The absolute winner in the championship was the “New Time” team from the Nazarovsky Agricultural College named after. A. F. Vepreva. Second place was won by “Electrons” from the Nazarovsky Energy Construction College, and the bronze was taken by the “Fair Decision” team from the Achinsk College of Industrial Technologies and Business. Among the schoolchildren, the team “Perspective” from the city of Lesosibirsk was in the lead.

It should be noted that presenting expert opinion at professional competitions and preparing production cases is only part of the large-scale career guidance work of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk. Coal miners have been forming a personnel reserve since school. In the schools of Borodino, Nazarovo and Sharypovo, regular meetings are held with representatives of the Company; Professional Classes.FM operate, upon completion of which graduates of the 9th grade receive certificates of their first profession. In the summer, Professional Teams.FM work in cities, where special attention is paid to familiarization with coal mining, energy enterprises and fuel and energy sector professions. In addition, the Company has clearly established interaction with specialized colleges and universities.

As part of the regional project “Professionalism for All”, launched in 2025 on behalf of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, SUEK-Krasnoyarsk signed an agreement on joint activities with several educational institutions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory aimed at creating and developing the educational and production cluster “EnergoStart”, and the Nazarovo open-pit mine joined the “Industrial Engineering” cluster.

Thanks to this partnership, colleges will train specialists specifically for the needs of enterprises and open new areas of training in in-demand professions. For example, from 2025 at the Nazarovsky Agrarian College named after. A.F. Veprev is training bulldozer drivers, and diesel locomotive driver assistants are being trained at the Mining Technical College named after V.P. Astafiev (Irsha village). Such partnerships ensure ongoing cooperation between students and future employers, provide graduates with job security, and help educational institutions upgrade equipment, classrooms, and workshops.
