During the New Year holidays, the regional leadership will tackle strategic issues. Governor Mikhail Kotyukov announced this during a direct line, announcing a series of working meetings with ministers.

Linking income growth to operational efficiency, the governor announced that 2026 should be a year of increased labor productivity in the region. It is this topic, as well as the issues of “family-centricity” of all government programs, that he intends to substantively discuss with members of the government during the holidays.

“I plan to gather ministers for the New Year holidays. Traditionally, my colleagues and I do not rest for two weeks. One or two days, and then preparations for the year begin,” said Mikhail Kotyukov.

At the same time, the head of the region confirmed that the issue of increasing salaries has already been resolved. He said that the budget provides for an increase in wage funds for employees of regional institutions from January 1, 2026. For federal employees, indexation is expected from October 1.

The head of the region plans to celebrate New Year's Eve itself traditionally. “I want to celebrate with my family, with children, with a Christmas tree, with a New Year’s table,” shared Mikhail Kotyukov. He added that the table will not be redundant: the plans include light dishes, traditional salads and tangerines. Gifts for children, according to him, have already been partially purchased, and some are still in progress, as children write letters to Santa Claus.
