Puskas Akademia U19 and FCSB U19 meet today at 17:30 in a decisive match for qualification in the final Youth League. The match will be broadcast in liveTEXT format on GSP.ro and on TV on Prima Sport 1 and Digi Sport 1.

After losing the game at Bufta with a score of 1-2, the students led by Marius Ștefan (32 years old) go to Hungary with the thought of qualifying. If they eliminate the Hungarian team, FCSB U19 will enter the main table of the Youth League, where they will duel with the teams that qualified from the league phase.

The Red-Blues will play the match at the “Pancho Arena” stadium, the place where Romania defeated Israel in the qualifiers for the 2024 European Championship (the match was played in November 2023, and Romania prevailed 2-1). The stadium is built in Felcsut, the village where Viktor Orban, the prime minister of Hungary, grew up.

Decisive match for FCSB U19

This season, FCSB U19 returned to the UEFA Youth League, the competition in which it had already participated in the 2013/14 season, in the very first edition. At the time, the small champions of Romania played in a group with Chelsea, Basel and Schalke. 12 years away from that moment, the red-blues force qualification to the final stage of the competition. If they manage to eliminate the team from Hungary, FCSB U19 will face teams coming from the league phase of the competition. Names such as Barcelona U19, Real Madrid U19 or PSG U19 can get in the way of the Romanians following a possible qualification.

FCSB U19 eliminated Lokomotiva Zagreb U19 in the previous round. In Croatia, the youth team of the champion prevailed with 3-2, a score with which they also won the leg from Buftea.
