The decision of the FRF Technical Commission » The names of the selectors that reached Burleanu's table

The meeting of the Technical Commission of the FRF, chaired by Mihai Stoichiță, took place this morning at Casa Fotbalului, where the members analyzed the current situation of the national team and debated the profile of the future selector. Gică Hagi is the favorite to take over from Mircea Lucescu.

Following the discussions, a list of proposals was prepared to be submitted to the leadership of the Federation. Gică Hagi and Edward Iordănescu were the names that received the most proposals. Daniel Pancu, Mirel Rădoi, Răzvan Lucescu or Cosmin Olăroiu were also on the list.

In the following period, these proposals will be presented to the Executive Committee of the FRF, which will decide, by vote, the person or persons with whom the negotiations will begin, as well as the financial coordinates and the contractual conditions.

Afterwards, the president of the FRF will carry out the final negotiations with the selected candidate or candidates, and the official appointment of the new selector will be announced after the signing of the contract, in a press conference.

The Technical Commission from the FRF has drawn up the list of possible selectors for the Romanian national team

At the end of the meeting that took place at Casa Fotbalului, Mihai Stoichiță gave statements.

“The majority is Gică Hagi, and Iordănescu still in the top of the members' preferences, as a procedure, a list of coaches presented from each was made, a list that I later presented to Mr. President. We did the counting together, so as not to make a mistake. The mandate must be obtained in the Executive Committee, the proposal has been made, we are an advisory body, not a decision-making one.

What did we have to do, our mission is over, we proposed the name for Romania's national team. I don't comment on what other people say. There is a suspicion that Mr. Hagi will come.

After the negotiations with the president are finished, the selector will be presented. The procedure is the mandate of the president. He will start negotiations with Gică Hagi and then he will be presented.

I have a lot of faith in him, since I was an opponent, then also colleagues, but not in football. I am sure that he will manage to bring another enthusiasm, another vision on how to play football, he succeeded in Constanța.

It's different from the club team, where you implement your ideas and what happens in the national team. Many players from the national teams passed through his hand, but the other players, it is impossible, those who passed through his hand, did not have dialogues with him and did not know what he wants, being professionals at a high level, it will be easy for them to know what vision he wants, the return to a major competition of Romania, that is the objective.

Young coaches were also on the list in addition to Hagi and Iordănescu, to mention Mirel Radoi, Răzvan Lucescu. It was hard to think about Oli, Răzvan, Pancu, Rădoi. How can it be hard? They are the ones who mark Romanian football”, said Mihai Stoichiță, in the Friday conference.

Lucescu had been proposed to remain within the FRF

I am very worried about what happened to Lucescu. Everything happened during the technical committee, after I told them that I had been to him yesterday and sat there with the president, it was fine. Today he was happy to be out of the hospital, everything seemed fine.

He was not happy that he had ended his collaboration with FRF due to health problems. The president had proposed a collaboration with the FRF, it was an important matter for him and for us. We were keeping him in the world of football and for us it meant a lot: his experience, his value and his help. It is stable now. From what I spoke with the hospital, the condition is stable. I'm not a doctor, I can't say more.

About yesterday's discussion: He was very happy to continue his work. Mr. Burleanu informed him that we do not want to break the connection with Mr. Lucescu and that he would help us a lot if he stayed with us. No clear position was established, but it was not technical director, even if many would have wanted it.
