Andrei Nicolescu (49 years old), the president of the Dinamo club, made an important announcement related to the stadium where the “dogs” could play the play-off matches, if the National Arena is not available.

The Dynamo official stated that the option of moving the games outside Bucharest is a real one, especially given the conditions in which the country's largest stadium will be unavailable. Thus, there is the possibility that high interest matches, such as Dinamo – FCSB or Dinamo – Rapid, will be played outside the Capital.

Andrei Nicolescu states that Dinamo can develop in the province: Sibiu, Cluj or Târgoviște”

In the play-offs, we will let the fans choose where to play, should the National Arena be closed. It can be the Arc de Triomphe or even one of the arenas in the province, which are bigger. Maybe Sibiu, Cluj or Târgoviște,” said Nicolescu on Digi Sport's “Footbal Club”.

Dinamo's president also provided information related to the Croatian coach Zeljko Kopic, stating that he will communicate in Romanian in the near future: “Kopic will speak in Romanian starting in 2026, either from the match with U Cluj, or even in the winter camp, who knows”.

The merger with CS Dinamo, still at the level of discussions

Nicolescu also touched on the subject of the merger between FC Dinamo and CS Dinamo, emphasizing that the decision does not belong exclusively to the club: “It is a political matter that I cannot control, a discussion at the ministerial level related to the merger with CS Dinamo”.

Ranking in the Superliga

Dinamo is in 4th place, with 38 points after 21 stages, just 2 points behind the leader Universitatea Craiova. For the “dogs”, the year 2026 will start with a match at home, when they will receive the visit of the “students” from U Cluj. The game is scheduled for January 18.
