The President of Romania met, on Tuesday, in France, with representatives of companies in the field of defense and emerging technologies.
“We conveyed to them that Romania will invest significantly in defense, but not just as a simple buyer. We want partners who bring production, technology, jobs and export capabilities to our country,” he declared.
Nicușor Dan, who spoke on Tuesday about French investments in Romania and with President Macron, claims that “many French companies already have advanced cooperation and investment plans with Romanian companies”.
“In the field of emerging technologies, artificial intelligence and cyber security, France is a European leader, and collaboration with the Romanian IT industry already has solid roots. Only through joint investments can we recover Europe's gaps in these strategic sectors,” added the head of state.
On Tuesday, Nicușor Dan was also at the “Thales factory in Limours, the largest radar production center in Europe, a leading technological hub”.
“We want more and more state-of-the-art technologies and equipment to be produced in Romania, and the partnership with Thales is essential in this direction. The company is already an important investor, with solid collaborations in our defense industry. Romania has talented engineers who can contribute to the development of these technologies, and some of them will directly strengthen our national security,” the president also declared.
